Your leadership of the Product Support team -- and ability roll up your sleeves to solve problems -- will have a daily, sorry, &lt;em&gt;hourly&lt;/em&gt; impact on the organization's bottom line.&lt;p&gt;Reporting to the Director of IT Operations, you'll work to anticipate and prevent transactional issues with Points.com's international customers. You and your team will keep business processes (real time and batch), flowing correctly through Points International systems, including the company's consumer-facing website, ASP and Hosted environments and new product implementations between Points and its partners. When problems pop up, you'll need to attack them. Fast.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;An Oracle and Unix expert, you'll work primarily with internal stakeholders, driving initiatives aggressively and being the main point of contact for technical support across Points.com's many programs and partners. Sounds like something every resume should have.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;span style="color: rgb(144, 0, 0); font-weight: bold;"&gt;Primary Responsibilities &lt;br&gt;  &lt;/span&gt;&#8226; Provide leadership and prioritization for projects and day to day activities for a small team, proactively addressing transactional issues within the production environment across all platforms&lt;br&gt;  &#8226; Daily monitoring of real time and batch, ftp and cron jobs transactional activities. Follow up with partners and internal Relationship Management team regarding file processing errors and file transfer issues&lt;br&gt;  &#8226; Perform detailed investigation into root cause of transactional problems and recommend permanent solutions&lt;br&gt;  &#8226; Work with key stakeholders to log, prioritize and action production transaction issues. Keep stakeholders informed of the status and confirm when a transactional issue is closed&lt;br&gt;  &#8226; Participate in meetings and partner calls regarding production support issues and processes&lt;br&gt;  &#8226; Identify and drive enhancement of monitoring of transactional activity across all environments and platforms via Sitescope monitoring tool or other programmatic means&lt;br&gt;  &#8226; Establish processes and procedures that will create world class transactional support environment within Points International&lt;br&gt;  &#8226; Create transactional activity and metrics reports for IT Management&lt;br&gt;  &#8226; Eliminate manual processing of transactions by implementing automated methods&lt;br&gt;  &#8226; Produce reports on transactional volumes, outstanding transactions, defects and other metrics on an ongoing basis&lt;br&gt;  &#8226; Maintain a supportive, positive, open and honest culture&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;span style="color: rgb(144, 0, 0); font-weight: bold;"&gt;Who Should Apply&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br&gt;  &#8226; Strong Oracle DBMS, PL/SQL, Unix and shell scripting together with ability to build simple and complex SQL queries and build transactional reports as required&lt;br&gt;  &#8226; Practical knowledge of ftp, cron, batch and real time application processing within a J2EE environment, together with ability to build Java utilities for transactional support&lt;br&gt;  &#8226; Knowledge of database design and data management&lt;br&gt;  &#8226; Demonstrable analytical, troubleshooting and problem resolution skill sets&lt;br&gt;  &#8226; Experience with Windows NT/2000, MS Office Suite, Visio, Crystal Reports&lt;br&gt;  &#8226; Excellent ability to identify and lead initiatives to successful completion&lt;br&gt;  &#8226; Excellent customer facing skills with ability to set and manage expectations of internal teams and external Partners&lt;br&gt;  &#8226; Excellent team lead, written, organizational, documentation and communication skills&lt;br&gt;  &#8226; Self-motivated, results-oriented with the ability to prioritize and manage project and day to day tasks&lt;br&gt;  &#8226; Ability to work well in a fast paced, interactive team environment and meet aggressive timelines for production implementations&lt;br&gt;  &#8226; Familiarity with Oracle, Weblogic (6 and up) and SunOne technologies&lt;br&gt;  &#8226; Computer Science Degree or related experience and formal computer training&lt;br&gt;  &#8226; Minimum 4 years experience in a transaction support role within a similar sized e-commerce environment, most recently 1 year as a Team Lead &#8211; Production support&lt;br&gt;&#8226; Knowledge of ASP based environments, Powerbuilder and Foxpro would be an asset &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;span style="color: rgb(144, 0, 0); font-weight: bold;"&gt;Contact&lt;/span&gt; &lt;br&gt;To make an inquiry and/or to submit a resume, please contact: &lt;br&gt;&lt;a href="mailto:penny.curtis@laudi.com?subject=Red Canary Team Lead Production Support Points.com"&gt;Penny Curtis&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/p&gt;</description>

&lt;strong&gt;Primary Responsibilities:&lt;/strong&gt;
&#8226; Monitoring of the LAN (Windows Active Directory) WAN, VPN and remote access
&#8226; Management of the email server (MS Exchange) and BES server
&#8226; Management of the DB server (MS SQL Server) with some Oracle and MySQL knowledge
&#8226; Management of the Web and application servers (Apache/PHP/mySQL on Linux)
&#8226; Management of IIS, mail filters and anti-virus applications
&#8226; Management of the remote access and VPN
&#8226; Tape back-up administration and restoration
&#8226; Supporting Windows-based internal users and external users
&#8226; Management of WAN and Datacenter

&lt;strong&gt;Secondary responsibilities:&lt;/strong&gt;
&#8226; Confer with network users about how to solve existing system problems.
&#8226; Maintain and administer computer networks and related computing environments, including computer hardware, systems software, applications software, and all configurations.
&#8226; Recommend changes to improve systems and network configurations, and determine and recommend hardware or software related to such changes.
&#8226; Perform data backups and disaster recovery operations.
&#8226; Maintain an inventory of parts for emergency repairs.
&#8226; Monitor network performance in order to determine whether adjustments need to be made, and to determine where changes will need to be made in the future.
&#8226; Design, configure, and test computer hardware, networking software and operating system software.
&#8226; Gather data pertaining to customer needs, and use the information to identify, predict, interpret, and evaluate system and network requirements.
&#8226; Plan, coordinate, and implement network security measures in order to protect data, software, and hardware.
&#8226; Coordinate with vendors and with company personnel in order to facilitate purchases.
&#8226; Perform routine network startup and shutdown procedures, and maintain control records.
&#8226; Maintain logs related to network functions, as well as maintenance and repair records.
&#8226; Train people in computer system use.
&#8226; Manage 2 people. A desktop support person and a DBA/Developer.

&#8226; Education: Degree or diploma in related field
&#8226; Minimum Experience: 5+ years relevant experience in similar position
&#8226; Experience administering: Active Directory, Exchange, SQL Server, Terminal services Full understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, WINS, and DHCP
&#8226; Experience with Linux/Unix, Apache and MySQL a MUST
&#8226; Programming experience with PHP or C is a plus
&#8226; management experience
&#8226; software company experience (preferably small to mid-size company)
