The Opportunity
Work among a small team of elite-level thinkers and developers as you identify and solve complex technical problems in a bleeding-edge thoughtspace.
As a member of the Authentication and Security team, you’ll be involved in challenging end-to-end development projects, from defining new feature requirements through design, coding, testing, and integration of these features into products and platforms.
Projects will be both varied and comprehensive. Blue Coat’s SGOS custom, object-based operating system combines proxy support of all Web protocols with integrated content filtering, instant messaging control, peer-to-peer (P2P) control, streaming control, pop-up ad blocking and virus scanning.
Computer language theory, conceptual thinking and problem-solving are part of this role, and you’ll work with the best and brightest to get things done.

Team mandate:
• Extend Blue Coat’s broad set of authentication/security features in its current platforms
• Enhance the authentication infrastructure for future feature sets
• Provide assistance to the field teams in investigating and solving authentication related problems.
When the feature is ready for release you will work with the documentation, support, and field teams to ensure that they understand the feature and how to use it.
Who Should Apply
• Significant experience with object-oriented programming and design
• Several years of C++ and C programming experience;
• System call level experience with Linux or Unix, or extensive Win32 experience
• B.Sc. or Masters degree in Computer Science or Engineering
Nice to haves:
• Knowledge of authentication and directory service protocols and APIs: LDAP, RADIUS, Kerberos, Active Directory, Novell
• Working knowledge of cryptography
• Working knowledge of HTTP
