The Opportunity
Business Services is dedicated to delivering world-class customer support by providing insightful business and financial analysis, accurate information and sound contractual support to address the current state of the Customer Support Operations (CSO) and Professional Services (PS) divisions.
As a member of the Business Services team the successful candidate will be involved in a number of activities relating to financial processes of the Professional Services business. The financial analyst will work to provide support through budgeting, financial modeling, analysis, and reporting. The tasks required by the successful candidate will include, but are not limited to:
- Regular communication with the PS team to discuss operating results, prepare forecasts, and prepare budget and revenue plans
- Preparing quarterly and annual operating and capital expense plans, as well as resource planning
- Providing financial opinion on revenue engagements
- Analyzing actual to budget variances and actively monitoring business unit performance
- Preparing quarterly and monthly reporting packages for the senior leadership team (financial and non-financial in nature)
- Creation and maintenance of profit loss statements, and other financial models
- Identifying issues and opportunities in the daily operations of the business
- Providing ad hoc financial support and business modeling
Who Should Apply

- University degree – preferred major in Finance, Commerce, or Business
- 5 years experience in a financial role
- Strong business acumen; ability to understand relevant business models
- Strong analytical and financial skills
- A proven self-starter with the ability to identify issues and suggest opportunities for improvement
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced spreadsheet modeling
- Demonstrated ability to solve problems both independently and collaboratively
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize tasks and work independently
- SAP and Cognos experience an asset
