How much of a 'techie' are you?

A tech survey

A survey by the Pew Internet & American Life Project identifies 10 ‘types’ of people based on how and to what extent they use information and communication technology (ICT) – think cell phones, broadband Internet, social networks, web cams and so on.

For better or worse I can’t wait to try new technology of almost every stripe, and I’m constantly trying to use it to enhance my productivity or communicate with friends and loved ones.

I would guess that Red Canary readers would fit into the early adopter/heavy user end of the survey groups as well (they seem to be the first four groups).

Am I wrong? If Canary readers are in the middle of this list, what does it mean for the general population and indirectly, product management and marketing?

The groups are:

Omnivores
Connectors
Lackluster Veterans
Productivity Enhancers
Mobile Centrics
Connected by Hassled
Inexperienced Experimenters
Light but Satisfied
Indifferents
Off the Network

I’m in the first group, the “Technologically Omnivorous”.
