Enjoy a role that will see you directly impact the success of dozens of startup companies across a number of emerging technology disciplines, including bio-tech, nanotech, green tech, web 2.0, communications, and more.

Reporting to the Director of Market Intelligence, you’ll interact directly with fledgling companies that are trying to turn big ideas into successful ventures.

Your ability to dig deep into their industry and market, identify prospective investors, and suggest best practices and strategies will be tremendously important. This isn’t paint-by-numbers research: many of these companies are operating in new or emerging sectors, so investigating and mining new data sources is part of the job.

Additionally, you’ll integrate secondary research from Business Insights, IDC, MedTrack, Thomson Pharma, VCReporter and VentureXpert.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve clients by obtaining secondary market research and providing well-qualified analysis
  • Work with relevant service bureaus and public information services to deliver high quality work, exceptional client service and a quick turnaround of information and results.
  • Respond to market research and reference requests. Assist with more complex, in-depth research requests.
  • Participate in service reporting and usage statistics.
  • Contribute “Spotlight” white papers for distribution within the business community in Ontario and for publication on pertinent subjects throughout the year.
  • Support the Director in providing training and mentorship to interns working within the Market Intelligence team.
  • Other special projects as required.
  • Other supportive duties as required.

Who Should Apply:

  • Degree in Information Communication Technology or IT or nanotechnology
  • Comfortable with SWOT analysis
  • Comfortable providing service to a varied client base.
  • Solid research skills in a broad range of sectors and industries.
  • Interested in early stage companies and technologies
