The Opportunity
Reports To: Manager, Software Development
Department: Research and Development

The successful applicant will work with the in-house development team and our clients to design, build, deploy and support registration applications within our established framework. These registration applications are web-based and run on both the internet and in private networks across North America. As well as working on the client requirements, the successful candidate will be assigned tasks to enhance, improve and upgrade the existing base framework and extending the capabilities we offer to our clients.

• Design, develop, test, release and support web based applications using various technologies and while adhering to our system standards and procedures. This will include various application components, web interfaces, web services and database processes
• Be an integral part of project teams that work to ensure success for both us and our customers
• Participate in the evolution of the product as we increase the abilities and capabilities of the application
• Participate in the introduction of new technologies into the application. These may range from base OS upgrades through to the integration of new technologies that enhance our product offering.
• Work within the team to evolve our technical guidelines and coding standards
• Provides periodic off business hours support for all software applications
• Periodic traveling across North America to support onsite equipment and applications

Who Should Apply
• Development experience using Microsoft development tools, such as ASP, ASP.NET, C#, SQL Server 2000, and Visual Studio are required.
• Demonstrated proficiency in all phases of systems development life cycle.
• Ability to adapt quickly to changing technology and business requirements.
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English with a demonstrated ability to effectively communicate ideas and actions to people at all levels in the department.
• Experience with high volume transaction management systems, n-tier architecture and database design would be beneficial.
• This job may require interfacing with clients and therefore, the ability to read and write effectively in English is a basic requirement
• Education: University degree/college diploma in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Science or equivalent experience is required.
