The Opportunity
Be part of a small hand picked team in Waterloo and work as part a startup within the larger Blue Coat organization to build a new appliance which will be a critical piece of the ISP infrastructure. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated individual, who likes a challenge, and wants to be part of a high powered fast paced team. We are using proven Blue Coat technology as the product foundation to allow us to meet the aggressive delivery schedule needed to capitalize on this emerging market. As an early member of this team you will have the ability to take on a large area of responsibility, work closely with the customer, and help shape the product.

Blue Coat is looking for a creative senior engineer to be the Networking Guru for the Waterloo R&D center. You’ll be involved in software and systems architecture and development, and will provide technical leadership to an incredibly talent team of software professionals. The networking stack is at the heart of the proprietary embedded OS and needs to be able to efficiently handle multiple Gigs of traffic per second and be resilient enough to work in many diverse service provider networks. The problems and challenges in this area are some of the most interesting in the system and require a very creative mind.

Who Should Apply
The right person for this role thrives in a collaborative team environment, is an expert at network protocol stack development, C++ and has extensive experience in developing and tuning high performance multi-processor systems.

Experience in embedded system development, network appliance development, and software performance optimization would be of great benefit.
