About the Company
This privately held real estate investment and property management company manages multi-family apartment communities. It currently administers 9,500 apartment units in 30 communities across the southern United States. As a ‘tech-focused’ organization, this company has a reputation for developing and adopting ahead-of-the-curve technical solutions to practical business challenges. Technology is their differentiator – and their success depends on it.
The Opportunity
Enjoy a role that will hone your business and planning skills as often as it engages your technical ability. While you’ll still be a go-to senior developer on a small, experienced team, you’ll also be directly involved in decision-making and solving business problems at a conceptual stage.
The applications that you build will be unique and original. You’ll be working to solve the real and ever-evolving challenges of property management, which means evaluating a business model and brainstorming ways to streamline process and improve profitability. It’s both a left-brain and right-brain job.
You’ll work with and gather information from stakeholders, whether it’s executives or juniors. Based on their feedback, you’ll propose software solutions.
At the end of the day this role is about growth – the growth of a business – and your own maturation into a leadership and/or executive role.
Who Should Apply
You’re ambitious, forward-thinking, and business minded. You’re a ‘what-if’ kind of person who is willing to ask questions and gets a charge out of identifying and solving business problems.
Technically, you must be expert or near-expert in: Java, J2EE, AJAX, TomCat, OpenSource tools, SQLserver, Oracle, and Oracle Financials. This should include complete SDLC experience.
You should have a solid intermediate/senior developer’s resume showing 6-8 years of experience that includes climbing up the ranks. Your post-secondary degree reflects and supports your career choice.
You must be capable of cold business analysis, but also have the soft skills to put your ideas – and the ideas of your team – forward. Your leadership and personal skills are good and you want to improve them.
Your development, operational and troubleshooting skills will still be called on, sometimes into the evenings or on weekends as the situation requires.
