About the Company
Analysts recommend them, investors buy them, and if you’re Canadian – you brag about them. With a history of developing breakthrough wireless email devices and connected enterprise solutions, our client is a world leader in mobile communications. As a global technology powerhouse, they continue to enjoy explosive growth.

The Opportunity
See your work impact tens of millions of people as you build secure and scalable data/voice pipelines for one of the most recognized technology brands in North America.

As a security expert on the Systems Architecture team, you will be directly responsible for ensuring the security of all software components within the BlackBerry system – handhelds, core infrastructure elements, public services/gateways and all enterprise services. Your focus will be on developing product security architecture, designing secure protocols and reviewing the architecture and design documents from a security standpoint.

Additional responsibilities include supporting software design teams, identifying and resolving security issues, performing code audits and reviews, and participating in overall architecture decisions.

Mission-critical just isn’t superlative enough to describe this role.

Competitive salary + bonus/profit sharing + RSP matching

The organization is also generous with its yearly bonus, tying it in to company performance. Growth in software development is expected to top 30% this year and 2007 is expected to be a very successful year for RIM.

Finally, Research in Motion prefers to hire full-time employees. That means family-friendly packages, better job security and the chance to work with the same skilled people day in and day out.

Who Should Apply
You have time-tested experience designing secure and scalable mission critical systems and a broad knowledge of security software development in the telecommunications and/or network infrastructure sectors.

Additionally you have experience with large-scale distributed systems, Internet protocols, messaging systems, email and instant messaging.

If you also know firewalls, authentication methodologies, cryptographic algorithms, SSL, VPN, PKI, intrusion detection, threat assessment, penetration testing, or network analysis programs (tcpdump and Ethereal are examples) you will be ahead of the pack.

This is a senior-level role, so 10 years of software development experience in a high tech environment, combined with 5+ years of security programming experience in various environments (Windows, Linux, Solaris) is ideal. Strong working knowledge of C/C++ and Java, along with experience producing and reviewing system and feature level documentation is necessary.
