The Opportunity

As part of the Performance Engineering team, you’ll ensure that the BlackBerry brand exceeds the performance and reliability demands of millions of users and world-class companies. The Performance Specialist is an essential member of this team.

Research in Motion emphasizes improvement from release to release without degradation. You’ll help achieve that goal through planning real-world load and data testing scenarios and executing tests to ensure exceptional performance of the BlackBerry Enterprise Server.

Part of your role will be to suggest environmental and code optimizations, and you’ll work closely with developers to analyze, document and resolve performance issues.

Who Should Apply
Along with a University degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or the equivalent, you’ve honed your skills within an enterprise software company, working with complex, data-intense client-server applications.

You’ve had 3+ years in a QA role where you’ve developed an understanding of performance and load-testing, multi-threaded applications (thread synchronization, time slicing, context switching, etc.) and client-server/distributed architectures.

Administration of Exchange, Domino or GroupWise mail servers, experience writing scripts or applications using MAPI, Domino API, or GroupWise APIs, experience debugging C++ applications, knowledge of SQL Server and DB2, debugging tools (UMDH, userdump, ADPlus, windbg, ethereal, Visual Studio debugger etc.) and WAN simulation tools will set you apart.
