The Opportunity
Be part of a team that is leading Research in Motion into the global small business marketplace. Join the Software Product Management Team as it creates and refines the company’s global competitive strategy and positioning for the BlackBerry product line.
This opportunity will see you collaborate with Handheld, Enterprise and Services Product Management groups-identifying approaches to and solutions for the sprawling SMB vertical. You’ll define and execute primary research that will lead to product strategies and definitions, and generate customer/carrier-facing product roadmaps and product messaging documents.
This is an opportunity to be involved in a massive project at a very early stage.
Who Should Apply
Research in Motion is looking for fresh faces with 2-5 years of software product management experience. You’ll need to be comfortable with marketing, product management, technical and customer-facing activities.
Favoured skills or descriptors include:
• Polished customer skills including the ability to set appropriate expectations on product at the senior management level
• Technical background with a business degree
• An ability to manage and reset priorities in a rapidly changing environment
• Strong project management and problem solving skills
• Be an effective communicator – written and oral – with the ability to create compelling presentations
• Comfortable working with personnel from a variety of functional groups and management levels
Naturally, understanding global market requirements and building product awareness will involve some travel.

This is a new area of product focus for RIM and a new Product Management group. The opportunities represents incredible revenue potential for RIM, but they are at tteh very early stages of getting to understand the unique needs of this business customer.

What if I am NOT in Waterloo?
This role is Waterloo-based, as it is essential that you work closely with the Software Product Management team, as well as other key individuals across the rest of the head-office organization.
