The Opportunity
Put yourself in the belt holster (rather than the shoes) of a Blackberry end-user as you develop automated test suites for RIM’s market-leading products.
How would a corporate team or consumer use the product? What stresses could an IT administrator at a Fortune 500 company create? You’ll consider these questions and more as you develop, maintain and execute automated and manual tests for the BlackBerry Manager and Desktop Manager software.
Multiple testing environments, regression testing and testing strategies for new features will be in your mandate as a member of the BlackBerry Applications Software Verification and Validation Automation team.
You’ll learn as much as you can about the software systems you test, take ownership of your assignments, and seek creative solutions to common testing challenges.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Drive the development and execution of test automation suites.
• Analyze current manual tests, rework the tests for automation, document the new manual steps, code the tests in Java using the automation framework, have the code reviewed, configure the test environment, run the test suites, record results, work with design on problem reports, and generate summary reports
• Provide feedback to the designers of the automation framework.
• Serve as a resource for other testers as manual testing transitions to greater automation.
Who Should Apply
• Previous work experience with Microsoft Exchange ®, Lotus Domino ® or Novell GroupWise ® email systems is an asset
• Associated degree in Computer Science or related Information Technology or related discipline.
• Skilled in object oriented design and is able to design / debug code in Java.
• Understands functional testing methodologies and principles.
• Able to create and execute automated test software based on high level test descriptions with little supervision.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
