The Opportunity
Be part of a small hand picked team in Waterloo and work as part a startup within the larger Blue Coat organization to build a new appliance which will be a critical piece of the ISP infrastructure. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated individual, who likes a challenge, and wants to be part of a high powered fast paced team. We are using proven Blue Coat technology as the product foundation to allow us to meet the aggressive delivery schedule needed to capitalize on this emerging market. As an early member of this team you will have the ability to take on a large area of responsibility, work closely with the customer, and help shape the product.

Blue Coat is looking for a talented senior engineer who wants to be an expert in multiple technical areas, loves to understand how everything about a full system works, thrives on trouble shooting and problem solving, and is quick to learn new technologies. The technology handles HTTP and video traffic but will continue to push the limits on caching of internet traffic; you’ll be asked to constantly tackle tough challenges with the need to continuously drive the performance of the system by optimizing algorithms, memory and disk utilization.

Who Should Apply

• Experience with object-oriented programming and design
• 5+ years C++ programming experience in a networking software or embedded systems environment (debugging, problem-solving, designing, optimizing)
• B.Sc. or Masters degree in Computer Science or Engineering
• Excited about a challenging, stimulating, highly technical environment
