The Opportunity
Apply your advanced C++ development experience and leadership skills as you create sophisticated simulation tools for RIM’s flagship products.

Splitting your time 50/50 between development and management (sliding more towards management as the team grows) you and the rest of the Enterprise Performance Engineering team will ensure that products meet RIM’s robust performance and reliability requirements standards.

The team’s current project is to build a tool that simulates the reliability and load tolerance of BlackBerry’s communication protocols. With dozens of BlackBerry products, thousands of applications and millions of users, this is a comprehensive development challenge.

Who Should Apply
The ideal candidate should have the following qualifications:

  • 6+ years development experience (ideally C/C++)
  • 2+ years leading software developers
  • Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering (other languages will be considered as well)
  • Experience in one or more of: network programming, TCP, sockets, high performance multi-threaded programming, SNMP, clustering, monitoring and administration consoles, database programming, telecom and other systems requiring high availability and redundancy
  • Sound knowledge of software architectures, OOA/OOD, design patterns
  • Proven ability in providing mentorship and meaningful feedback to enhance performance of team members
  • Ability to recruit and develop talent within the team
  • Ability to motivate and inspire others to achieve optimal performance targets
