The Opportunity
Leading a small team of software developers (read the developer’s job description) you’ll build automation tools and lead proactive automation strategies for an entire department at one of Canada’s fastest growing and most profitable companies.

Like the individuals on your team, you’ll be half SWAT team member and half detective, with an added focus on project management.

You’ll roll up your sleeves to build much-needed automation tools, but you’ll also have a greater responsibility—to keep the the department’s long-term automation strategy and resource allocation (the ‘big picture’) in sight.

This role offers a 360º development role: being hands-on when required, stepping back to make sure that projects are focused and on-target, and contributing to a larger, proactive automation initiative.

Who Should Apply
You currently lead a development team, and have experience with the development and execution of automated tests.

  • You are able to determine when and where automation is valuable, and can work with a variety of professionals and managers to plan and execute
  • Previous work experience with Microsoft Exchange ®, Lotus Domino ® or Novell GroupWise ® email systems is an asset.
  • Associated degree in Computer Science or related Information Technology or related discipline.
  • Skilled in object oriented design and able to design / debug code in Java.
  • Understand functional testing methodologies and principles.
  • You are able to create and execute automated test software based on high level test descriptions with little supervision.
