With a history of developing breakthrough wireless email devices and connected enterprise solutions, Research in Motion is a world leader in mobile communications. As a global technology powerhouse, they continue to enjoy explosive growth.

The Opportunity
Write documentation for all end users of the BlackBerry and related products. Over 9 million people will not only see your work but rely on it. You will be part of the Software Documentation group, but focused on writing for a wide audience and challenged by the need to write for techies and non-techies alike.

An independent thinker and self-starter, you’ll have minimal supervision and maximum resources as you work alongside cross-functional project teams to deliver high quality documentation. You will also be key in helping to improve documentation products and processes, and provide input into overall product design and usability.

Who Should Apply
You have 3-5 years of field or technical communication experience coupled with a related post-secondary education in communication or professional writing. You have exceptional planning, research, and writing skills, with a knack for relaying information to end users. Proficiency with standard publishing tools, such as Adobe Illustrator and FrameMaker, coupled with an understanding of the software development process. Having server, user/task analysis, usability testing and XML experience will put you ahead of the pack.

Does RIM use DITA (Darwin Information Typing Architecture)?

Yes, they are just starting to use this technology – and having DITA experience for this role is an asset.
